Sponsored by: Blueprint Social and Plaid Online.
Have y'all heard of Decoden? I hadn't until I started working on this projection, just I think it'due south hilariously over the top and thought it might be fun to share this technique with you, even though my kids did not partake in the project with me.* I used the Mod Podge Melts for this projection, along with this goopy frosting-looking substance (Modern Podge Collage Clay) that adheres to surfaces and holds the items in place.
Decoden is essentially 3-d collage where you lot go to town with the materials. Do it up! Get in glitzy! Think yous're finished? Add some more stuff! I was excited to play around with this because information technology challenges my crafting condolement zone- I usually like to continue my crafts pretty simple.
So hither's what I did: I played around with all the materials I received from Plaid, and so I ended up keeping the project uncomplicated anyway. Obviously information technology's harder for me to pause out of my comfort zone than I thought…
ane. If you lot want to brand the same sort of mirror I fabricated, start with a evidently mirror. Using the silver and gold modge melts, brand enough of the large old gemstones to go effectually your mirror.
2. Arrange them around the edge until you like how they look, so remove them just to the outside of the mirror- this way you will keep them in position so it is piece of cake to put them back on the mirror where you wanted them.
iii. Squirt the collage clay out around the edge of the mirror. This is fun! You actually feel like you are decorating a cake, and information technology looks just like frosting. And so add your mold melts all around. Press them in and allow everything dry out!
Here are my tips based on my experience working with all of these materials:
•Make certain you use a mini gum gun on high heat. • Depression rut won't melt the mold melts sufficiently. • Play effectually with different molds and different colors of the mold melts so you have a agglomeration of different little pieces to arrange and run into what you like. • Allow the mod melts cool for virtually 10 minutes in the mold before you try to pop them out. • Easily cut away any excess modern cook with scissors. • Nail polish works really well as a paint on the mod melts!
Here are the materials they offering to become you started with Decoden:
